Chiang Mai, THAILAND

CHANGING LIVES IN Chiang Mai.

There are approximately 75,000 children living in orphanages in Thailand…but the reason for that may surprise you.

The number one reason for family separation in Thailand is poverty. Research indicates that up to 95% of those 75,000 children have family who could care for them. Those families often send their children to orphanages thinking they'll have safe shelter, nutritious food, and access to education.

In addition, more than 50% of private orphanages are unregistered, with no oversight from the social welfare department. This leaves children highly vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, and severe mental deficits.

The province of Chiang Mai is no exception. There are an estimated 600 private orphanages in Chiang Mai alone. These children deserve better. With your partnership, helped get children out of orphanages and into loving families. Click here to visit our blog and learn more about our approach in Chiang Mai.
