Setting The Standard In Sonora
Being the first ain’t easy, but that hasn’t stopped you! You are paving the way for providing family-style orphan care in Sonora, Mexico! Your $300,000 investment is rewriting laws, establishing new standards, and opening doors for children to find a loving family.
We are currently focusing our efforts in San Luis Río Colorado, a town right on the U.S.- Mexico border and the home of our first international office. Over the last year, we’ve been working to obtain government approval to pioneer our innovative model of orphan care. And we’re almost there! We are in discussions with government leadership, and we’re optimistic that we’ll get approval be able to provide family-style care in San Luis Río Colorado in 2019.
At the same time, we’ve been partnering with the local DIF (Mexico’s version of Child Protective Services) to show love to the orphans currently living in government care. These children are living in an institution, and we can’t wait to help them get into loving family environments. But in the meantime, we are helping the kids now, in any way we can! Take a look at the blog posts below to learn more about the impact you’re having in the lives of these children.
Thanks to you, big things are happening in Sonora! Stay tuned for additional updates!
